The park's diverse ecosystem provides habitat for an impressive array of native wildlife, including white-tailed deer, northern flying squirrels, both red and gray foxes, as well as populations of muskrat and American mink.

- Should your arrival time fall after park closing on your scheduled check-in date, you must notify park staff by 3pm the following day to adjust your arrival schedule.
While the park welcomes visitors throughout the year (except Christmas Day), the summer season provides optimal conditions for experiencing the full range of recreational activities. The Paddy's Creek swimming beach operates from May through September, and anglers will find prime largemouth bass fishing conditions from April to October. During peak summer months, particularly on weekends, securing advance reservations is highly recommended to ensure your preferred camping experience.
- Swimming is exclusively permitted in the Paddy's Creek Area, where an entrance fee applies for access to the designated beach area.
- Watercraft enthusiasts can rent canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards at the Paddy's Creek Area facility between May and September.
- Four-legged companions are welcome throughout most of the park, excluding buildings and swimming zones, provided they remain leashed (maximum 6-foot length) and supervised at all times. The beach area is strictly off-limits to pets.
