Cades Cove Campground Map at Great Smoky Mountains
Cades Cove Campground Map Overview
The map orients north to the lower-right corner, with the circular arrow around the north symbol. The campground sits just off the Cades Cove Loop Road, next to Abrams Creek. The road coming in from the top edge is the Cades Cove Loop Road Entrance, and the road leaving at the left edge is the Loop Road Exit.
Campsites are divided into two main loops—B SECTION and C-SECTION—plus a separate Group Camps area labeled G-1 through G-4. A large picnic area appears above the campground along the creek with its own parking and restroom icons.
B Section & C-Section Layout
Once you pass the campground entrance, the road splits into two clusters of standard campsites:
- B Section: The larger loop on the north side of the map. Sites are numbered roughly 1–85 and arranged on short, one-way fingers that branch off a circular interior road. Several restroom icons sit in the middle of this section so most spurs are a short walk from facilities.
- C-Section: The southern loop below the entrance area. Sites here are numbered mainly in the 1–80 range for C section, again on short spurs off a circular loop road. A central restroom icon serves most of this section.
Both sections are dense “tree-branch” layouts: drive the main loop, then turn down the spur that contains your site number and use the turnaround at the end if needed.
Group Camps & Picnic Area on the Map
To the right of the B Section you’ll see a clearly labeled Group Camps area:
- G-1, G-2, G-3, G-4: Four large group sites, with numbers in parentheses indicating approximate capacity. G-3 includes a pavilion icon.
- Paths and a small spur road connect group sites back to the main campground loop near the sign “To Group Camps.”
Above the campground, between the road and Abrams Creek, the map shows a long Picnic Area with parking, restrooms, and picnic table icons. An arrow points beyond this area toward the Anthony Creek Trail and Horse Camp.
Facilities & Icons in Cades Cove Campground
The legend for the original map uses a familiar Smokies icon set, several of which appear around B and C sections:
- Restrooms: Toilet symbols placed at central points in both B Section and C-Section, and in the picnic and group-camp areas.
- Parking: “P” icons near the campground entrance and at the picnic area for day-use visitors.
- Camp store / services: Icons near the entrance show where basic services (like a camp store, phone, or information) are located.
- Picnic tables & grills: In the picnic area above Abrams Creek, indicating designated day-use sites.
- Trailheads: Hiker icons marking routes toward Anthony Creek Trail and the horse camp, plus connections from C-Section toward group camps.
When you’re choosing sites, note how many spurs away you’ll be from restrooms, parking, and trailheads—especially if your group plans to walk to the picnic area or hike early.
