Colter Bay Campground Map

This page is a map-only guide to Colter Bay Campground in Grand Teton National Park. Use it to understand the campground “neighborhoods” (lettered loops), where group camping sits, and how the campground connects to Colter Bay Village services (visitor center, marina, restaurants, showers/laundry, and trails) plus the nearby RV park and cabins areas.

Quick orientation from the map
  • Jackson Lake is on the left side of the map (west).
  • The main road splits toward Jackson (right) and toward Yellowstone NP (top).
  • Colter Bay Campground is the large lettered-loop area north of the Village.
  • Group Camping is shown above the main campground loops.

Map Zones (What’s Where)

The map groups Colter Bay into distinct zones:

  • Colter Bay Campground: The main campground area with multiple lettered loops.
  • Group Camping: A separate cluster north of the main campground.
  • RV Park: On the lake side near the swimming beach.
  • Cabins & Tent Cabins: South/east of the campground near the cabin office.
  • Village core: Visitor center, restaurants, marina, boat launch, and general store/services.

Colter Bay Campground Loops (Lettered Areas)

The campground itself is organized into lettered loops shown as “fingers” branching off a central access road. On the map, the loops are labeled: A, B, C, D, E, F, G (lower cluster) and H, I, J, K, L, M, N (upper cluster).

Lower loop cluster (near Village/RV park)

Loops A–G sit closest to the Village services corridor. If you plan to walk to the visitor center, marina, showers/laundry, or restaurants, these loops are the shortest “map-distance” by layout.

Upper loop cluster (toward Yellowstone direction)

Loops H–N are shown farther north on the map. They’re still part of the same campground complex, but positioned closer to the road direction labeled “To Yellowstone NP.”

Group camping

Group Camping is marked as a separate area above the lettered loops, indicating it’s distinct from the standard loops.

Village Services & Landmarks on the Map

The map includes multiple “anchor points” you can use to orient yourself quickly:

  • Visitor Center: Marked near the trail network by the lakeshore.
  • Marina & Boat Launch: Shown below the village core.
  • Restaurants: Marked in the village core.
  • Laundry & Showers: Shown near the main transition between the campground and village area.
  • General Store & Activities: Marked near the same village corridor.
  • Store & Gas Station: Marked on the road segment to the right of the campground area.
  • Old Service Station: Marked between the campground area and the road corridor.
  • Cabin Office: Shown near the cabins/tent cabins loops.

Trails, Lake Access & Beach

Trails are shown with dashed lines and include labeled walking times/distances. The map highlights lake access via: Swimming Beach near the RV park area, plus multiple trail connectors leading to the lakeshore and village.

If you’re using the map for “walkability,” treat the visitor center and marina as your reference point, then trace the dashed paths back toward the campground loops.
